Abstract

Occurrence of juxtaglomerular (JG) cells in holocephalian kidneys was investigated using two species, the rabbitfish, Chimaera monstrosa, and the ratfish, Hydrolagus colliei. The presence of JG cells was demonstrated in the kidneys of both species. The granules of JG cells are Bowie-positive, but they are not stainable with PAS.
