Abstract

This essay is the result of a descriptive research of the bibliographic review type. The investigative process was based on documentary analysis, hermeneutics and content analysis with the aim of analyzing the importance of the implementation of educational technologies in the teaching-learning of Geography. Among the main findings are: the conception of educational technology as a set of resources, processes and tools of Information and Communication applied in the educational system in its various fields and levels. There is a series of technological resources for the teaching and learning of Geography such as audiovisual media and Geographic Information Systems that allow students and teachers to innovate through their implementation in classrooms. Despite having educational technologies, it is still a pending task to achieve their systematic use in the teaching-learning process of Geography.
