Abstract
In this paper we consider the problem of existence of conformalmetrics with prescribed scalar curvature on n-dimensionalRiemannian manifolds, $n \geq 5 $. Using precise estimates on thelosses of compactness, we characterize the critical points atinfinity of the associated variational problem and we proveexistence results for curvatures satisfying an assumption ofBahri-Coron type.
