Abstract
Relationships among various sets of variables for two groups of children were studied. One group entered an experimental program at age 3, whereas the second group entered at age 6. Four combinations of five demographic, one intelligence, three behavior, and six readiness variables were correlated with six achievement variables for each of the two groups. For each combination, both canonical and multiple (when each achievement variable was considered a criterion) correlations are presented and discussed. A behavior variable appeared as a significant predictor of achievement in a number of combinations for the first group, but not for the second group. Other specific results are discussed.
