Abstract

Dr. Stone explores the nature of preprints, how they have evolved, the importance of transparency, and the value preprints bring to scholarly literature. She also shares insight on the preprint services SSRN provides to researchers. During the COVID-19 pandemic in particular, there has been a need for rapid and frequent communication as new data has come to light. Preprints can help fill that gap and act as a valuable tool and resource to the larger community. This webinar highlights how preprints have transformed from being static pre-publication articles, to being dynamic documents that have been integrated directly into journals’ editorial workflows.
