Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the importance of a program to increase family resources in caring for an individual with cancer at home. This paper describes a Home Care Course developed at the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and the results of the pilot study. The implications of such intervention on decreasing family vulnerability to crisis and enhancing family adjustment are also addressed.
