Abstract

There is a perception today that is broadly held but rarely voiced: That our political, economic, social, and academic institutions are increasingly unfit for public purpose. How students experience and prepare for a world of deep social change and unrelenting technological advances is something that educators can influence profoundly. There are four mindset capabilities that serve as an illuminating lens for viewing one’s teaching with fresh eyes and a reassuring sense of clarity regarding how to prepare learners to adapt and embrace a world of continuous societal and workplace disruption: Psychological Safety, Empathic Concern, Step Up-Step Back Leadership, and Community Problem Solving.
