Abstract
James DeCaro, Ed.D., a senior research professor and dean emeritus at the Rochester Institute of Technology National Technical Institute for the Deaf, has guided deaf students to successful careers in civil engineering since 1971. He shared best practices for preparing deaf students for the workforce, as well as partnering with the community to create a workforce adequately prepared for hiring deaf employees.
