Abstract
Semimicro adaptor-tubes for the preparative ultracentrifugation of multiple plasma samples in a horizontal rotor have been made. Their use in determining the extent of plasma protein binding of methaqualone and dihydromethaqualone is described. At the therapeutic level, these substances are highly bound: a 50-fold increase in total concentration results in only a 2.5-fold increase in unbound fraction.
