Abstract

Abstract TiO2 nanoparticles were deposited on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for improvement of their photocatalytic activity. CNTs could be uniformly covered with TiO2 nanoparticles by the hydrolysis of titanium tetraisopropoxide in the presence of urea. Urea worked as linker molecules between the CNT surface and the TiO2 nanoparticles. The resultant TiO2–CNT composites showed a high catalytic activity for photodegradation of organic molecules.
