Abstract

In this study, three-dimensional flower-like Fe-Bi(OH)3 was firstly prepared by using sol-gel method. The synthesized Fe-Bi(OH)3 was characterized by UV–vis spectrophotometer, scanning electron microscopy, energy disperse spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction. In addition, the prepared Fe-Bi(OH)3 has been systematically studied as a nano photocatalyst for the degrdndegradation of Rhodamine B firstly. The results showed that the degradation rate of Fe-Bi(OH)3 was 99.61% under natural daylight. Besides, the degradation efficiency of Rhodamine B can be significantly improved under red light irradiation. Therefore, Fe-Bi(OH)3 nanocomposites can be used as a photocatalyst to treat Rhodamine B in industrial wastewater.
