Abstract

Abstract It is well known that the amorphous BiPbSrCaCuO thick films prepared by twin roller rapid quenching method is crystallized by thermal annealing method. In this report, we have studied the process of crystallization in the amorphous BiPbSrCaCuO thick film which is melted at 1100 °C and rapidly quenched. At the annealing temperature of 600 °C Bi 2 Sr 2 CuO x phase is dominant. In the range of 700–800 °C, the phase is mainly consisting of Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 O y . And above 800 °C, Bi 2 Sr 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O x phase has appeared in X-ray diffraction pattern. Superconducting properties of those thick films are also reported.
