Abstract
In order to improve the hydrophobicity of the superhydrophobic PP hollow fiber membrane and its application efficiency in membrane distillation, the method of solution coating was utilized in the surface modification of original PP hollow fiber membrane. The fabricated superhydrophobic hollow fiber membrane was applied in membrane distillation process. Water flux and salt rejection was evaluated to determine the efficiency of the modified fiber membrane. In addition, the effect of coating times on the superhydrophobicity was investigated. The results showed that after 6 times of surface coating, the water contact angle reached 154.5o and the salt rejection was enhanced from 99.0% to 99.9%.
