Abstract

In this study, small-sized glucose-LDH nanosheets were prepared using glucose as a polymerization inhibitor. The results indicated that glucose-LDH was successfully synthesized, and glucose molecules not only controlled the growth of LDH crystals and nanosheets but also inhibited the aggregation of the LDH nanosheets. Compared to that of LDH, the lateral size of glucose-LDH nanosheets prepared with 0.6 g of glucose addition decreased significantly, from 400 nm to about 50–100 nm. This novel strategy could be used for the preparation of other LDHs by changing the inorganic precursors.
