Abstract

Sm1+xBa2-xCu3Oy(Sm123) films on MgO substrates were grown by the Liquid Phase Epitaxy(LPE) process in air atmosphere using BaO-CuO solvents with Ba/Cu ratio of 3/5 and 3/4. The large difference in the substitution ratio Sm1+xBa2-xCu3Oy(Sm123) films was not recognized for different growth conditions including temperature and solvent. Tc value of 93K was obtained in the Sm123 films grown in air from the Ba/Cu=3/5 solvent after O2 annealing at 300°C for 100 hours. The peak effect was observed for the Sm123 films annealed by continuous cooling heat treatment condition.
