Abstract
Ultrafine powders are crucial for the preparation of high-performance Re-based materials via low-temperature sintering. In this work, a joint reduction method of carbon and hydrogen is proposed to prepare Re nanopowder for the first time. The former carbon black can significantly reduce the particle size of final products, and the latter hydrogen reduction can decrease the contents of carbon and oxygen residues. And the as-obtained rhenium nanopowder is only about 108.6 nm with a slight carbon (0.019 wt%) and oxygen (0.03 wt%). This method is straightforward, easy to implement, low-cost and conducive to the large-scale industrial production.
