Abstract

Lead titanate (PbTiO3) and (Ag–Fe) codoped Lead titanate (PbTiO3) nanoparticles were synthesized by hydrothermal method and the prepared samples were annealed at 600 °C. The synthesized nanoparticles were described by physicochemical methods and analyzed the morphology, phase and elemental composition. To examine the impact of the nanoparticles on color degradation, different trial parameters, for example, pH (2, 4 and 6) conditions at different time periods and starting dye concentration was optimized. Ag–Fe co-doped PbTiO3 nanoparticles degraded the dye with 80.40% at pH = 6 under UV light. The highest photocatalytic activity of (Ag–Fe) codoped PbTiO3 nanoparticles was attributed to the endorsed charge separation and the enhanced adsorption capacity. Furthermore, the catalyst was found to be reusable and stable.
