Abstract

Dehalogenation polycondensation of 5,8-dibromoquinoxaline derivatives affords π-conjugated poly(quinoxaline-5,8-diyl) derivatives having high electron-accepting properties, and the polymers are easily converted into electrically conducting materials on chemical and electrochemical reductions. The polymers having aromatic substituents show strong fluorescence and are useful materials to make light-emitting diodes.
