Abstract

<title/>The well developed plate-like -Al2O3 particles were obtained in Na2SO4 flux using coal fly ash as starting materials. A little of alumina phase was produced in the Na2SO4 flux under sintering at 1000°C for 3 h. The main phases were alumina in the sample under sintering at 1200°C, and the plate-like particles were observed with diameter range from 2 to 5 μm and thickness range from 0·1 to 0·2 μm.
