Abstract

The spent NiAl catalysts were used as raw materials for the preparation of NiB alloy, in which B element was originated from B 2O 3 and the Al in the spent NiAl catalysts was used as reduction agent. The chemical analysis results showed that the prepared NiB alloy contained low content of impurity, which could meet the need for metal rolling and hot spray coatings. XRD patterns showed that in the NiB alloy the main component was NiB and there was some content of Ni 4B 3. The refining technology, additives and viscosity in the metallurgical process were discussed.
