Abstract
A sol-gel procedure is developed to prepare successfully transparent, monolithic and crack-free borophosphosilicate bulk glasses. The reagents of Si(OC 2H 5) 4, H 3BO 3 and H 3PO 4 are used as the starting materials. The maximum total boron and phosphorus contents in borophosphosilicate glasses achieved here is 12 wt%.
