Abstract

In this study, manganese selenide/copper oxide nanocomposites anchored on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MnSe/CuO/MWCNTs) were fabricated with different ratios and their characteristic properties were evaluated. Microscopic images show the decoration of CuO on MnSe without changing morphology. UV–Vis analysis indicates that the best optical properties of MnSe/CuO/MWCNT nanomaterials via 2.06 eV as a band gap energy. The photocatalytic ability of the fabricated nanomaterials was evaluated by the decomposition of rhodamine B (RhB) (97.23%) and malachite green (MG) (100.0%) under visible LED irradiation within 45 min. Furthermore, the antibacterial activity of the prepared nanosamples was investigated against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus strains. The results show that MnSe/CuO/MWCNTs can be used as a stronger antibacterial agent.
