Abstract

By using scanning electron microscopy, the arrangement of binary mixture of micro gels in the film was investigated as a function of the surface character, ratios of the volume, and the diameter of two microgels. The bond angles comprised of three particles were determined from two SEM micrographs of the same film place, but with different angles around one rotating axis that ex ists in the sample plane. In the film comprised of the microgels with cationic and nonionic surfaces, the nonionic species affect much on the mixed state. On the other hand, in the film comprised of anionic and cationic microgels, uniform mixing was possible by controlling pH.
