Abstract

Simple methods for the isolation of triglyceride-rich fraction from egg yolk and cholesterol-rich protein fraction from outdated human plasma have been developed. The isolated fractions were used to enhance the triglyceride and/or cholesterol levels of bovine and horse sera up to 350 mg/100 ml without an appreciable change in physical properties of the sera. The preparations show no evidence of interfering material in cholesterol and triglyceride methods tested so far.
