Abstract

Entering the 21st century, diverse cosmetology industries have rapidly developed. Concurrently, people’s interest in their appearance has gradually increased. The most common ways of expressing such outer appearance include skincare, nail care, hairstyling, makeup and clothing. Among them, hairstyling is one of the most important factors. In particular, once hair is damaged due to frequent coloring or perming, it is hard to restore its health. Therefore, the need for hair clinics that prevents such hair damage has been emphasized. With the current popularity of the ‘healthy lifestyle’, people have a greater preference for natural hair conditioners that are free of any harmful chemical ingredients. This study Hair treatments containing flaxseed oil were prepared and their properties were investigated. with natural flax seed oil and analyzed their hair protection effects. Each formulation was applied to hair, and changes were compared. When a flax seed oil hair conditioner, not a base one, was used, hair mass, thickness and tensile strength increased. According to a methylene blue (MB) coloring test, hair damage has improved. Such improvement was greater in bleached hair than in natural hair. When examined by electron microscope, as flax seed oil content increased, hair surface was smoother with better cuticle conditions.
