Abstract
A simple method was developed to prepare ultra-thin, large-area, free-standing two-dimensional (2D) polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) colloidal crystal array monolayers by assembling PMMA colloids suspended in toluene on water surface. Diffraction of the free-standing films could be adjusted through the particle size or operation time.
