Abstract

Compounding of magnetic particles and dielectric material is often significant to adjust their electromagnetic (EM) parameters, optimize the impedance matching, and improve the microwave absorption (MA) performance. In this paper, multiferroic Fe3BO5 as a critical material is coated in the surface of FeNi alloy particles or mixed together with the FeNi particles. Consequently, the EM parameters are adjusted significantly, the impedance matching, and MA performance are improved dramatically. The absorption bandwidth of RL≤−10dB is up to 6.0GHz ranging from 12GHz to 18GHz and the RL peak reaches −37.57dB at 15.45GHz when the thickness is 1.5mm, showing that the Fe3BO5 is available for improving the MA performance of soft magnetic alloy particles.
