Abstract

AbstractA 0D Cu(II)‐containing metal organic framework (MOF) catalyst has been developed to promote α, β‐dehydrogenation of saturated ketones in the yield of 70 %–90 % at mild conditions without extra organic ligand. The single crystal data of the Cu‐MOF catalyst shows the 0D structure based on the typical dinuclear paddle‐wheel shaped, comprising of a Cu(II) center and four activated N atoms (including two N‐methyl‐pyrrolidone and two pyridine) which can activate the hydrogen atom of the saturated ketones. The Cu(II)‐containing MOF catalyst also exhibited satisfactory stability in the non‐proton polar solvent and could be reused for more than five times without any significant loss of activity.
