Abstract
A coal tar pitch based adsorbent(CTPA) was prepared. The structure of the CTPA adsorbate was analyzed using FTIR, Zeta potential, SEM and BET. We investigate the adsorption mechanism of cation dye contaminants by adsorbates. It has been shown that CTPA has superior adsorption properties for MB. Thermodynamic analysis and Zeta potential analysis have shown that electrostatic forces play a particularly prominent role in adsorption. Statistical physics model studies have shown that increasing the temperature increases the trapping power and the number of adsorption sites. According to the SED theory, MB adsorption is particularly strong at elevated energy sites.
