Abstract

Cube textured copper tapes have been prepared as possible substratesfor deposition of high critical current density YBCO films with intermediatemetallic or ceramic biaxially textured buffer layers. The cube texture waspromoted by recrystallization after cold rolling. The deformation degree, theeffect of deformation reduction at each pass and the influence of annealingtemperature on the recrystallization process has been studied. Differentparameters have been optimized in order to obtain the sharpest cube texture{100}⟨001⟩. The full width half-maximum mean values (FWHM) of the grainsout-of-plane measured from rocking curves in the parallel andperpendicular directions to the rolling are 10° and 14°, respectively, while thein-plane FWHM obtained from the pole figures is 10°.
