Abstract

An YBCO superconducting compound was studied using a laser ablation technique on single crystalline SrTiO 3 and metallic substrates. Superconductivity with T c = 89.5 K and J c = 4.4 × 10 6 A cm −2 (77 K, O T) was obtained on SrTio 3. On hastelloy, one of the metallic substrates, YBCO with T c = 89.5 K and J c = 1.4 × 10 4 A cm −2 (77 K, O T) was achieved. Excellent c-axis alignment of the YBCO was realized on the metallic substrate. A 5 cm long YBCO composite tape was fabricated using a hastelloy tape. The characteristics of silver assists grain alignment of the YBCO. Three types of model of stabilized composite oxide superconductor are proposed.
