Abstract
A single crystal of EuO, weighing 2 g and containing 9.1 mole % of the oxygen as 17 O, has been grown in a sealed molybdenum crucible by slowly cooling a non-stoichiometric (Eu 1.17O) melt which was prepared by the reduction of 17 O-enriched Eu 2O 3 with europium.
