Abstract
A method has been developed for the preparation of a 90Sr- 90Y generator system based on the sorption of 90Sr- 90Y on a column of zirconium antimonate and subsequent elution of 90Y with 4 M HNO 3. The preparation of the column and other parameters for the separation Sr and Y are described and discussed. More than 80% of 90Y can be recovered in 10 column volumes of eluent with a radionuclidic purity >99.99%.
