Abstract

Laser processing of 9,10-bis(phenylethynyl)anthracene (BPEA) and 1-chloro-9,10-bis(phenylethynyl)anthracene (CBPEA) in the surfactant solutions of anionic SDS, cationic CTAB, and amphiphilic surfactants of HDDSA and TDDHSA were performed using the second-harmonic (532 nm) of pulsed Nd:YAG lasers. Using the present laser processing techniques, the generation of BPEA and CBPEA nanoparticles was succeeded for the first time. The optical properties of BPEA and CBPEA nanoparticles prepared by the laser processing techniques were measured and compared with the previous work prepared by the precipitation method. The pH dependence of the absorption spectra of BPEA and CBPEA obtained by the laser processing in the amphiphilic surfactants was also investigated and the results for such pH dependence of the absorption spectra were also reported.
