Abstract

In this study, a rGH/α-Ag3VO4/GOQDs composite photocatalyst with a three-dimensional network space structure is designed, to attain high photocatalytic efficiency and adsorption synergy. The synthesized composite is supported by graphene hydrogel which has a surface adsorption effect on the composite materials to achieve high adsorption capacity and rapid adsorption of pollutants. GOQDs promote α-Ag3VO4 photogenerated electron-hole separation and enhance the interface stability and photocatalytic activity of the composite for anti-photocorrosion. The photocatalytic activity of α-Ag3VO4/GOQDs is significantly enhanced with an increasing proportion of rGH. Through the synergistic effect of adsorption and photocatalysis, effective degradation of phenol, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, and various dyes is carried out. The results showed that the removal efficiency of phenol, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, and various dyes by rGH/α-Ag3VO4/GOQDs (6%) is 96.1%, 98.3%, 99.1%, and 100% in 24, 21, 15, and 3 min, respectively. The trapping reaction measurement shows that the main reactive species for degrading the pollutants are •O2- and •h+. rGH/α-Ag3VO4/GOQDs composite demonstrates excellent photocatalytic and adsorption properties, and efficiently removes a variety of pollutants through the synergistic effect of photocatalysis and adsorption.
