Abstract

TiO 2 has gained great popularity for environmental treatment and purification process; however it shows poor absorption of visible light and requires UV light for activation. CNS codoped TiO 2 (CNS-TiO 2) photocatalyst prepared by sol-gel method is visible light active. The photocatalyst was characterized by x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy with EDAX analysis. Amidoblack-10B dye (AB-10B) solution under visible light irradiation was used to determine the photocatalytic activity. The photocatalytic test indicated that the modified TiO 2 photocatalyst has higher visible light activity than TiO 2.
