Abstract

In this study, we developed a simple, environment-friendly, and one-step Solvothermal method to prepare ultra-small, and monodispersed chromium oxide (Cr2O3) nanocrystals (NCs). The nanocrystals have been further characterized by Transmission electron microscope (TEM), UV-Vis absorption, and Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. TEM images depict that Cr2O3 NCs are spherical, and having an average diameter of 5 nm. Further, the antibacterial activities of Cr2O3 NCs have been studied using Gram-negative E. coli and Gram-positive S. aureus. The results showed that Cr2O3 NCs have excellent antibacterial activities against E. coli and S. aureus.
