Abstract

In this study, the polyaniline prepared by a free radical method. This polymer denatured by aluminium oxide (Al2O3) with three different wt% proportions (1%, 3% and 5%). The optical properties of the pure polymer PANI were studied and compared these results with the optical properties of composite materials PANI/Al2O3. The optical properties were permeability, absorbency, absorption coefficient, and refractive index. The results showed that the value of the energy gap decreases with the increase of Al2O3 ratio as its value in the pure polymer 3.16 eV began to decrease until it reached 2.31 eV.
