Abstract
Abstract Di(isopropyl)tin dichloride has been prepared by the redistribution method in good yield and characterised by elemental analysis, molecular weight determination, 13C and 1H NMR and IR (4000 to 200 cm−1) spectroscopically. X-Ray powder diffraction data on the previous compound indicates a tetragonal symmetry. It forms 1:2 adducts with unidentate ligands and 1:1 adducts with bidentate ligands. Molar conductance values and molecular weight determinations indicate that the adducts exist as monomers with small dissociation in solution.
