Abstract

Shape memory water borne polyurethane/modified nano-ZnO composites membranes were synthesized from modified nano-ZnO, polybutyleneadipate glycol, polycaprolactone, isophorne diisocyanate, dimethylol propionic acid, ethylenediamine by self-emulsified method. Crystallinity, mechanical and shape memory properties of the composites influenced by the modified nano-ZnO content were studied using SEM, POM, DSC, DMA, mechanical testing measurements and shape memory property testing. The results showed that the crystallinity, storage modulus, tensile strength and elongation at break of the composites membranes were improved effectively with a suitable amount of the modified nano-ZnO. The composites membranes shows favorable shape memory property when the modified nano-ZnO content was 0.45 wt.%.
