Abstract
Polymers (RTT') were synmthesized by the condensation of resacetophe-none (R) with thiourea (T) and trioxane (T') in the presence of 2 Mu HC1 or 2 M H2S04 as a catalyst and varying molar proportions of reactants. The polymers were characterized by elemental analyses and IR spectral studies. The number average molecular weights of polymers were determined by vapour pressure osmometry and non-aqueous conductometric titrations in pyridine. Viscosity measurements were carried out in DMF Thermogravimetric measurements of the polymers have also been carried out.
