Editor please delete 25338 16:025339Reaction of nitric oxide with molybdenum and uranium hexafluorides gives the solid ionic compounds NO/sup +/-STAMoF/sub 6/! and NO/sup +/STAUF/sub 6/!/sup -/. These same compounds result when molybdenum and uranium pentafluorides are allowed to react with nitrosyl fluoride. No reaction occurs between nitric oxide and tungsten hexafluoride, while nitrous oxide does not react with tungsten, molybdenum, or uranium hexafluorides. (auth)
