Abstract

The MnCo2O4 powders were prepared using a coprecipitation method and employed in low temperature CO oxidation. The preparation parameters in the coprecipitation method were optimized by the Taguchi method of experimental design to synthesize the MnCo2O4 catalyst with high catalytic performance in a low temperature CO oxidation reaction. The results showed that the optimized sample indicated a mesoporous structure with a high specific surface area of 108.42 m2/g and a small pore size of 9.44 nm. The obtained results confirmed that the Taguchi method was effective in optimization of the preparation factors. Moreover, the highest CO conversion was observed on the optimized sample by the Taguchi method and this sample possessed a CO conversion of 100% at 150 °C, which was higher than those observed for other samples at the same temperature.
