Abstract

The preparation and optical polarization of Ag/epoxy composite films with aligned Ag nanowires were studied. The Ag nanowires were obtained by seed-mediated method and uniformly dispersed in the epoxy resin solution with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) added. When use the gas pressure of 0.15–0.20MPa (P2) with the pull speed of 15–25cm/min (S2), then the bubble was formed. Moreover, when use the pressure of 0.05–0.10MPa (P1) with the pull speed of 5–10cm/min (S1), the bubble was also formed. The bubble with high and diameter of 80cm and 50cm, respectively, was obtained when the viscosity of epoxy at 600–650Pas. The Ag/epoxy composite films samples with aligned orientation of Ag nanowires show the properties of polarization transmittance no matter the concentration of Ag nanowires content. But the polarization transmittance increased with the concentration of composite films containing Ag nanowires increased.
