Abstract
A series of novel composites consisting of NiCuZn ferrite and cordierite crystallites was prepared by sintering mixtures of NiCuZn ferrite nanosized particles and MgO–Al 2O 3–SiO 2 (MAS) glass powder. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results revealed that cordierite glass particles crystallize during sintering, resulting in the coexistence of NiCuZn ferrite with cordierite crystal phase in as-sintered composites. The resulting composites have tunable electromagnetic properties with high resonance frequencies, which may be used for multilayer chip inductors (MLCIs).
