Abstract

SnS2 is a promising cathode material for its high specific capacity (1232 mAh/g), but it’s limited to the low decomposition temperature and conductivity as the thermal battery application. Herein, the flaky graphite(FG) coating SnS2 composite (denoted as FG/SnS2) with excellent thermal stability and conductivity was prepared. Then, as a thermal battery cathode material, it presented longer working time at current constant density of 100 mA/cm2, and higher pulse voltage at 2A/cm2 pulse current density than the pure SnS2. Application as the engineering unit thermal battery, its performance of higher working voltage, lower total resistance, and more stable output capacity indicated it can be used for high-power thermal batteries.
