Abstract

While Pt/C is widely used as the electrocatalyst for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs), the use of oxides could improve their durability. In this study, the strong interaction between Pt and TiO2 enables to develop Pt-TiO2 nanocomposite electrocatalysts for achieving higher durability. XRD results and EDS analysis in high resolution STEM confirmed the format of nanocomposite electrocatalyst of Pt and TiO2. This nanocomposite electrocatalyst exhibits high catalyst activity preventing Pt aggregation for improved durability against potential cycling.
