Abstract

The precursor powder of CaVO_3 was prepared by sol-gel method using vanadium pentoxide, calcium nitrate, citric acid, and oxalic acid as raw materials. The target product CaVO_3 was obtained by calcining the precursor powder in argon atmosphere at 1000 °C.In order to determine the appropriate calcination temperature, thermal stability of the precursor powder was tested. The target product CaVO_3 was characterized by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) spectrometry,thermogravimetry(TG),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and conductivity. In addition, the properties for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) were also investigated, and the results showed that the electron transfer number of ORR on the modified electrode was1.5-1.7,which indicating that ORR was a two-electron process.
