Abstract

AbstractPolypyrrole/SiO2 nanocomposite doped with 3‐nitrosalicylic acid was synthesized in three concentrations of 3‐nitrosalicylic acid: 0.01 m, 0.005 m, and 0.0025 m. FTIR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Raman scattering spectroscopy, and FESEM imaging further assisted in determining the shape and structure of the polypyrrole/nanocomposite product. The aluminum protection arrangement of the paint film comprising polypyrrole/SiO2 nanocomposite doped with 3‐nitrosalicylic acid was proven by electrochemical methods. The salt spray test results also demonstrated the protective efficacy of the paint film comprising polypyrrole/SiO2 nanocomposite doped with 3‐nitrosalicylic acid to suppress corrosion. The best corrosion prevention results were obtained with a polypyrrole/SiO2 nanocomposite dispersion paint film doped with 0.01 m 3‐nitrosalicylic acid at a concentration of 2%.
