Abstract

The coexistence composite materials of zeolite/diatomite was prepared by calcination-acid hydrothermal treatment. The zeolite/diatomite was characterized by DTA-TG, XRD, SEM and BET. The results showed that diatomite from Inner Mongolia was mostly tubular structure. The microporous structure of diatomite was observed by calcination treatment. Appropriate acid hydrothermal treatment can make the microporous structure of diatomite clearer, and generate a new phase variscite 10 with molecular sieve structure. Optimization of hydrothermal treatment conditions can effectively control the content of molecular sieve in the sample and generate zeolite/diatomite composite materials. The optimum technological parameters of hydrothermal treatment were as follows: acid mass fraction 10%, reaction temperature 170℃ for 3 h. The specific surface area of zeolite/diatomite was 96.2102 m2 g−1, which was 194.1 times higher than that of raw diatomite. The saturated adsorption capacity of zeolite/diatomite could reach 103.5 mg g−1 which was 311.3 times higher than raw diatomite.
